We all want to be in as good a shape as possible. However, it is often something of a challenge getting to that point where it feels as though this has been accomplished. If you are keen to get in better shape, you have probably considered a lot of different routes to get there. The most obvious one is to join a gym and start promising to yourself that you will go. However, in practice this doesn’t always work out too well. Often, it is far more effective – and enjoyable – to simply get your exercise in by doing something fun. Sports are a great way to achieve this, as you can enjoy yourself without thinking about exercise. Yet, you will be doing wonders for your body. But which sport is best? Well, there is no all-round best sport for exercise. Yet, there are several which are surprisingly powerful. Let’s take a look at just three of them.
Golf
This might not be the first sport you think of when it comes to staying fit. After all, you will not be getting your cardiovascular fitness from this particularly game. However, that doesn’t mean that it is useless as a form of exercise. The truth is, playing golf regularly is surprisingly effective as a means of working out your muscles. If you think about it, this makes perfect sense. After all, that swing isn’t going to have zero effect on your body. If you are keen to sculpt your upper body, then playing golf might be a surprise solution you could consider. What’s more, you can minimise the distance between shots using a golf range finder. That means more energy dedicated to working on your swing – and your arms.
Tennis
If it is all-round fitness you’re after, then tennis is a sport which is likely to provide it pretty well. In tennis, you certainly get the same kind of muscle tension as in other sports like golf. After all, those short swings do take their toll. But you also have the cardiovascular side of things being appealed to as well. Tennis takes a surprising amount of running around, after all. This means that if you play it regularly, you will probably notice some significant changes to your physique.
Gymnastics
Of course, there are many types of fitness, and so far we have only really covered two. If you are looking for cardio fitness or strength, then we already have you covered. But what about flexibility? Well, there is good news there as well. In fact, there are plenty of sports which allow you to improve your body’s flexibility. Probably the most effective and most enjoyable is gymnastics. This is a sport which is all about using your body’s flexibility, so you are likely to experience some considerable gains from this. Just be sure to take it slow, and not overly exert yourself to begin with. Otherwise, you might find that you actually cause yourself damage. And that is the last thing that we want to see.
