Never Shave With A Blunt Razor Again With Conerstone’s Shaving Subscription Service

A clean and cut-free shave is hard enough it’s itself to achieve, let alone when a blunt razor is involved. If you shave regularly, either through choice or due to work-commitement, it’s all too easy to forgot to stock on new razors resulting in you having to bite the bullet and shave with a blunt razor that was definitely too blunt for your last shave, let alone this one.

If you’re unsure about whether a razor is too blunt for you or not, you can easily tell just with one stroke and the number one rule about shaving is to never shave with a blunt razor.

Why Are Blunt Razors Bad For Shaving?

Blunt razors are bad for shaving for many reasons. The number 1 reason being is that they make shaving uncomfortable. Blunt razors often feel like they are ripping the hairs out of your face and not cutting the hairs at all. To be honest, shaving with a clean, crisp razor shouldn’t feel like it’s cutting at all, it should just glide across your face smoothly and effortless.

Blunt razors can be really damaging to your skin too, they can results in aggressive shaving rashes, nips and cuts due to the resistance a blunt razor can have against the skin. Shaving with a perfect blade can easily result in a rash, let alone with a blunt one. Our top tip for preventing a shaving rash is to ensure you always use a credible shaving gel or foam, dry shaving or using water is a no-go because it increases friction which can result in a rash.

Finally, a blunt razor results in a pretty rubbish shave. With a blunt razor you will find yourself covering the same area, many times, due to the razors inability to shave closely. You may also notice that the hairs tends to grow back faster when using a blunt razor too.

How Often To Change Your Razor?

In order to prevent having to shave with a blunt razor and effectively subjecting yourself to a rubbish shave, we recommend changing your razor after every 3-5 shaves, dependant on your hair type and the amount of facial hair you have.

If you’re a guy that shaves daily, say 5-7 times a week then we recommend changing your razor at atleast every week. If you shave now and then, for example 1-2 times a week, then we recommend changing the razor every 2-3 weeks.

Cornerstone’s shaving subscription service is great for ensuring you have a close, clean and comfortable shave every time – no more blunt razors! The service works by sending you the shaving suppliers you need at a frequency suitable to your shaving habits. You effectively tell them how often you shave (daily, now and then or not often) and what shaving products you want to receive and they ship them (with free delivery) to ensure you have the supplies for every shave, it’s great to know you always have spare razors in the cupboard without having to go out your way to get them.

Our Review

We recently tried Cornerstone’s shaving products out and have to say we were pleasantly surprised. When the men’s shaving market is dominated by Gillette, it can be quite daunting to try out other brands when there is a clear favourite by us men and the retailers that sell shaving razors. However, if you asked us to try and tell you the difference between the 2 branded razors (without seeing them) then we would probably struggle to distinguish between the 2 – pretty good when you consider the price difference. When you add in the convenience of the service, straight to the door is great, we’d probably even go as far as to say that we prefer the Cornerstone razors.

The design of the actual handle makes it really comfortable to shave with and also has a great modern design, so looks great on the bathroom windowsill, when you add in the fact that you can engrave the handle too, it’s a big thumbs up from us.

With it now being the season of giving and men’s grooming products being the go to Christmas present for men, why not think about this great service for a Christmas present which is a bit different to the standard LYNX toiletry set every guy is used too.
