Samuel Groth – World’s Fastest Tennis Serve at 163mph

Tennis Talk

We at the GroomingMail.com love our sport and that includes watching a spot of tennis on a sunny afternoon. Whilst we’d love to tell you we’re court side at Wimbledon we’re actually pottering around the house taking part in our own sporting activities such as hoovering and weed wrestling.

We were completely stopped in our tracks when we heard that today on centre court plays Samuel Groth who has in the past served at an unbelievable speed of 163mph. Imagine being on the receiving end of that. We’d rather not. In fact let’s be honest, we’d jump out of the way. Intrigued, we thought we’d take a quick look at Google to see how this unreal speed matches up against some other ridiculously fast moving humans and machines:

  • Usain Bolt 27-28mph.
  • Ferrari 0-60mph in sub 3 seconds.
  • Shoaib Akhtar bowled over 100mph in the 2003 cricket World Cup.
  • F1 cars 233mph.
  • Red Arrows Hawk T1 600mph.
  • Concorde 1350mph.

Will Groth beat Federer this afternoon? That remains to be seen but win or lose we are completely in awe at the speed of this guy. Samuel Groth the Grooming Mail salutes you!
