7 Things Men Should Know About Accessorising

Accessories for men

When it comes to men and accessorizing, it can be a little hit or miss. Some of men are naturals, while others get confused and make a mess of their look. All men should be able to accessorize seamlessly to compliment their look. Here are 7 things all men should know about accessorizing to get it right each and every time:

There is Such a Thing as Overdoing it

You really don’t want to walk around looking like Mr T, guys. Let’s take a guy in my gym, for example. He comes in dripping of silver and gold. Huge chains hanging from every limb. God knows what he looks like when he’s not working out! You want to get the balance just right. All of your accessories should have a purpose. They should either be practical, sentimental, or a bit of a status symbol. Wearing a ton of status symbols is a bad idea. Remember that. Choose wisely.

Pay Attention to the Smaller Details

The smaller details can make a huge difference to your overall look. A simple pocket square can take your look from a 6, all the way up to a 10 in a matter of seconds. The smaller details add depth and interest. Don’t neglect them.

Don’t Try to Be Something You’re Not

You should feel comfortable in everything you wear. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t wear it. Think, ‘in doubt, opt out’. It just isn’t you if you feel that badly about it. Only wear accessories that you love or mean something to you.

Always Wear a Watch

A man’s wrist is naked without a watch, but that’s just my opinion. Shinola’s watches are a good choice, because they can be dressed up or down. Some men have an entire collection. Some for casual wear, some for going out and hitting the town. Whatever you do, make sure you have one!

Be Cautious With Earrings

Earrings are a risky business. Make sure you feel comfortable wearing one. Wearing two can be especially risky unless you’re a rapper or a male model.

You Can Have Nice Shoes and Bags Too

It isn’t just the ladies that can have nice shoes and bags! Make a statement with them if you’re brave enough. Wear some unusual shoes/boots. Invest in a practical man bag to transport your things from A-B.

Sunglasses are a Must

All men should own a pair of sunglasses. Not only do they instantly make any look cooler, they protect the eyes and skin surrounding from UV rays. If you’ve had a heavy night, luckily they can hide that too. Carry them with you wherever you go. Just don’t be the guy that wears them at night time.
